Snappy Snacks Contest Winner Now Open for Business at La Placita

La Placita’s Food Court will be open for lunch daily starting at 11am this Thursday, May 2nd. One of the mobile food trucks offering lunch is Annie’s Austin Kitchen, the recent winner of the Snappy Snacks contest.

Pryor’s Grand Prize was the use of a Snappy Snacks mobile catering truck for two months, plus two months of rental space at Ramsey’s La Placita.  She will also receive one-to-one consulting from Ramsey, one of the leading experts in the food catering business. Ramsey and his company Snappy Snacks have already helped launch the successful food truck careers of some of Austin’s most popular food mobiles: The Peached Tortilla, Chi’Lantro’s, Fresh Off The Truck and Stony’s Pizza.

La Placita is located at 15630 Vision Drive in Pflugerville just behind Cinemark Tinseltown Theater and makes for a quick way to grab lunch or dinner before catching a matinee or evening film. A good blockbuster coming to town on Friday is Iron Man 3. Check your local listings for

Son de Rey to Perform at Flamingo Cantina and Gypsy Lounge for Cinco Festivities in Austin

Son de Rey will be performing this coming Friday, May 3rd at Flamingo Cantina on world famous 6th St. in Austin Texas, along with two other great groups.

The doors open at 9pm with Flying Club scheduled at 9:45 PM; Son de Rey at 11pm and La Vida Buena at 12:30 pm.

The admission at the door is only $5, a steal for live music by three bands that will help you get your Cinco celebration on!

Son de Rey performed their energetic music that impressed the audience at the Texas Bar and Grill in South Austin on Sunday, April 28th for RAM JAM, a fundraiser for the Johnston Ex-Students Association and their efforts to construct the Johnston High School Vietnam Veterans Memorial Monument to the late former Johnston High School students who fought in the Vietnam war. The musical artists from the Austin and surrounding areas that helped make this effort possible are to be commended, including Son de Rey, Devin Banda, Anani Rhames, Marisa Cortez and many others.

Son de Rey will also be at GypsyLounge 1504 E. 6TH STREET, Austin, Texas 78702 on Saturday, May 4th to continue the weekend festivities.
