Texas Parks Offer Fishing Classes Through This Fall

Fishing with the Ranger, a free catch and release instructional program, is offered every Friday of the month through October from 6PM–7PM and in November from 4PM–5PM. No reservations are required, but up to 30 participants are welcome and will meet behind the Park Store.

The program is free with the park entrance fee. The entrance fee is $6 per person for ages 13 years and older;  $3 for Seniors and free for children that are age 12 and under.

No fishing license is required while on state park property. The poles and the worms are provided.

School may be starting again soon, but Labor Day will soon be upon us and families may seek outdoor activities to pursue before the cold weather sets in. Some state parks are not so far away and the drive can also serve as a good getaway from the city streets.

To find more information on this and other state park events/activities (other than fishing – including fairs and festivals) near you, call 512.793.2223 or visit www.tpwd.state.tx.us/calendar/fishing-with-the-ranger-4
