How closely fans follow The X Men and The Wolverine comic book and films may make a difference on how they view The Wolverine 3D that opens in theaters July 26, 2013. I totally was engaged with the film that James Mangold directs, based on the screenplay by Mark Bomback and Scott Frank from the story by Christopher McQuarrie, as The Wolfman (Hugh Jackman) travels to Japan upon request of a person who he has not been in contact with for decades.
I would venture to say most all followers of X-Men and Wolverine know to expect it to be an action-adventure film and THE WOLVERINE in 3D will have fans lined up this weekend eager with anticipation.
Logan/Wolverine is the same as before, but in this film faces obstacles and challenges he has not encountered before, including weakness at a time he most needs it.
Tao Okamoto stars as Mariko, the granddaughter to a Japanese soldier he had an encounter with previously, Yashida (as Haruhiko Yamanouchi) and the visit to Japan he expected to be overnight is anything but brief and pleasant.
Svetlana Khodchenkova is stunning as a doctor treating Yashida, but she really hides her real life as the Viper. Not only is she stunning, she is fabulously dressed in the varied costumes she wears in this feature film. The Costume Design is by Isis Mussenden.
Not wanting to reveal much more, make it down to the theater this weekend when The Wolverine in 3D hits theaters and prepares us for what else is to come with the other well known iconic characters. MPAA Rating: PG-13
