Day Two of Comicpalooza and Galacticon in Houston

When I arrived at the George R. Brown Convention Center this Saturday morning for the interview opportunities, it was before the doors were open to the public and you could hear a pin drop. Once the doors were opened, the fans lined up in anticipation to go into the event. The line of fans extends down the length of the 2nd floor inside the convention center; with some folks in costume as their favorite character or, as the character they developed and created for themselves.

Posing for Liz’s Lenzwork are Jimmy Huynh and Jerrica Juarez, both from Houston, as they registered at Comicpalooza as zombies.

Even though the lines are long, there is plenty of entertainment even before entering the exhibit hall. Who does this trio look like?

2013 is the year to celebrate the official 35th anniversary of the original Battlestar Galactica series, and the 10th anniversary of the new Battlestar Galactica series. The Galacticon 3 convention is held in close collaboration with the Comicpalooza Convention at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.

Among the invited guests to Galacticon are Michael Trucco, an American actor known for his role as Samuel T. Anders on the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica; Esai Morales, who portrayed Joseph Adama, William Adama’s father, in the Battlestar Galactica prequel Caprica, and Rekha Sharma, the Canadian actress best known for her portrayal of Tory Foster on Battlestar Galactica. I will be posting some more information on them soon.
