Texas International Comic Con, Comicpalooza, Arrives in Houston Next Weekend

The Texas International Comic Con, Comicpalooza, is the best and biggest annual multi-format pop culture convention in the US southwest region and will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, over Memorial Day Weekend, May 24-26.

This year’s event includes famous faces from around the galaxies of Hollywood from sci-fi and beyond. More than a comic convention, Comicpalooza has something for every genre fan from action, anime to Stephen King’s Dollar Baby Film Festival, SyFy’s Powerful Monday lineup, 16 year old Austinite lego designer to the biggest Battlestar Galactic convention in the U.S today!

Landing into the Space City are personalities from the Star Trek family, Lost Girl, Spartacus, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Invader Zim and top comic creators, artists, writers, craftsmen, and filmmakers.

GalactiCon 3, the Battlestar Galactica festival, is held once every 5 years. The GalactiCon 3 guest lineup includes top talent from both the original and the 2004 SyFy series including Edward James Olmos, Tricia Helfer, Richard Hatch, Dirk Benedict and Anne Lockhart.

Comicpalooza also features entertainment from music acts such as Abney Park, ArcAttack, Professor Elemental, Frenchy and the Punk, and the Marquis of Vaudeville, as well as comedy, a Stephen King Film Festival, video gaming, National Wrestling Alliance matches, International Quidditch Association games, live art, a body painting competition, children’s programming, and many other forms of entertainment and activities for the whole weekend.

Comicpalooza and GalactiCon are co-locating so that GalactiCon attendees will have access to Comicpalooza and Comicpalooza attendees will have some access to GalactiCon guests.
