Date: May 19, 2013 – 12PM to 5PM
Location: Sixth Street between Brazos Street and Robert Martinez Jr. Street
VIVA STREETS! is Austin’s version of a ciclovía, temporarily closing a street to motor vehicles so that people can participate in a variety of activities along the event route. The primary goal of the event is to introduce attendees to various sport, recreation, and fitness opportunities as well as programs and services that make healthy choices fun and easily accessible to Austin residents.
VIVA STREETS! is a community-led event in partnership with the RunTex Foundation and the City of Austin. VIVA STREETS! is being funded by corporate, private and not for profit organizations. A two-mile length of Sixth Street will be closed to motor vehicles and open for biking and other activities.
