Today Is National Walking Day

For some, getting in their exercise routine in daily is very easy. For many others, it is a challenge amid the daily routine of family and work. Even though you may not have celebrated this day earlier with a formal “walk” with friends, family or co-workers, it is not too late to gather information to make this a good habit for you and your family.

According to the American Heart Association, here are some reasons why walking is important: Heart disease is this country’s No.1 killer. But by exercising for as little as 30 minutes each day you can reduce your risk. That’s what the American Heart Association’s start walking movement is      all about: Walk more. Eat better. Live a longer, healthier life.

• Improve your cholesterol profile
• Prevent weight gain
