Director Don Scardino’s The Incredible Burt Wonderstone was the opening night film for the SXSW Film Festival in Austin on March 8th. This film screened in the Headliners section of the festival. There were throngs of fans on hand to hang out for a chance to view or photograph their favorite celebrities from the film.
Although I did not work the red carpet at SXSW this year for this comedy, I do have photos from the Los Angeles red carpet event, courtesy of Warner Bros.

Burt Wonderstone’s lovely assistant in the film is played by the beautiful Olivia Wilde and she posed in her lovely black gown for the camera in LA last week.

The film has its very good moments of humor coming from the very talented and well known cast members, but at times I could not help to think the script by writers, screenplay by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, based on the story by Chad Kultgen, Tyler Mitchell, Jonathan Goldstein and Daley lacked a bit of lustre.
It is not to say it is not entertaining, but I certainly think that with this stellar cast of comedians, it would have had me rolling with laughter the majority of the time. It did not, but although the script may have faltered, the cast performances are outstanding and still worth watching. Full price, maybe not, but a good matinee will do for this.
