SXSW Film Festival Wristbands go on sale today, February 13th, at Waterloo Records and Alamo Drafthouse Ritz, Slaughter Lane and Village locations.

Formerly known as Film Passes, the festival will now issue film wristbands this year, and this will grant the holder entry into screenings immediately after badge holders.

Single Tickets, which will be sold for every film this year (subject to capacity), are also a great resource allowing Austin locals to catch films without committing to a badge or wristband. Tickets will be sold at each venue if seats remain 15 minutes prior to showtime. The larger venues and SXSatellite Venues north and south of downtown are suggested as the best bets for single ticket availability, but despite the long lines at some venues, it is worth taking a chance to try to get in.

SXSatellite Venues, which include Alamo Drafthouse Slaughter Lane (5701 West Slaughter Lane) and Alamo Drafthouse Village (2700 West Anderson Lane) are open to Film, Gold & Platinum Badges, Film Wristbands and single admission tickets, and offer local audiences a chance to sample some of the great films at SXSW without having to brave the crowds and traffic downtown!

For people who do not have a film festival badge from SXSW, here are three options for film fans below:

FILM FESTIVAL WRISTBANDS: $80 (tax included) valid Friday, March 8 through Saturday, March 16th.

Film Wristbands provide entry into screenings following Badge Holders based on capacity, but does not provide access to the SXSW Film Conference or Official Film Parties. Until they sell out, Film Wristbands are available now at Waterloo Records and Alamo Drafthouse Ritz, Slaughter Lane and Village locations.

This year individual tickets will be sold for every single film, subject to capacity. When seats remain 15 minutes before show time, single tickets will be sold. The larger venues are the ones most likely to have seats available for single ticket sales, including the Paramount Theatre, Topfer Theatre at ZACH and the Vimeo Theater at the Austin Convention Center. Other good bets include the SXSatellite Venues: Alamo Drafthouse Slaughter Lane and Village locations. The Rollins Theater at the Long Center is also a good one to try. Check the line status for a film on the Venue Status Boards in the SX Go! app or at

These are available in limited quantities for a selection of Paramount and Stateside Theater screenings. They can be purchased through
