The American Scream is the latest documentary from director Michael Paul Stephenson, following his critically acclaimed Best Worst Movie. The world premiere of The American Scream took place at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas where it was heralded as “enormously uplifting” (Matt Barone, Complex) and received the award for Best Picture in the Documentary Features category.
The American Scream is a touching documentary that follows three Halloween-obsessed households as they transform their homes into neighbor-terrifying supernatural wonderlands. Endless styrofoam tombstones and backyard beasts come courtesy of a few supremely dedicated local “home haunters” who’ve devoted their lives to the art of handmade monster-making.
The American Scream is an original documentary for NBCUniversal’s Chiller network. The film will also play at film festivals throughout November. For information on the film and tickets, visit www.magicstoneproductions.com
