Red Salmon Arts
presents
a documentary film screening
of
Anne Braden: Southern Patriot (1924-2006)
by
Anne Lewis & Mimi Pickering
Free & Open to the public.
A first-person documentary about the extraordinary life of this American civil rights leader.
Braden was hailed by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in his 1963 Letter from Birmingham Jail as a white southerner who was “eloquent and prophetic.” Ostracized as a “red,” she fought for an inclusive movement community and became a mentor for generations of social justice activists.
Talkback with filmmaker Anne Lewis following the film.
