La Frenetika performed their cumbia and salsa sounds that had the fans on their feet!
Two of the members of newly formed Austin based Mariachi Las Tejanitas entertained the standing room only crowd at Mexita’s Restaurant. There was not a quiet fan in the place!
Myrna Cabello and Daniel Cook [aka Myrna and the Bulldog] also performed that evening and her song Drunk had a rousing response and reaction from the fans, among many of the other songs the singer/songwriter performed that evening!
Son Armado based in Austin performed a Fandango style Son Jarocho genre of music that was new to many people in the audience and was quite a performance.

The crowd was mezmerized by Patricia’s performance and totally taken with her dance as she came down from the stage to perform aside the audience.
Sarah Puente Lara traveled from the Rio Grande Valley to Austin to perform in the Women in Latin Music showcase as a representative of the Austin Tejano Music Coalition’s CANTA vocal contest. She perfomed a knock your socks off rendition of a fan favorite Tejano song that had audience members hit the dance floor immediately. She followed it up with a Regional Mexican song that brought on the “gritos” from both ladies and gents.
Devin Banda is another CANTA contestant and attends Hays ISD with a goal of music in her future. She has been invited to perform with local bands and wants to further her education and music endeavors.
Kiana Mode performed at the Women in Latin Music showcase and in this picture by Liz Lopez, she took the stage of the Pan Am Hillside Theater as the CANTA contestants opened the summer shows for the community.
